Geared toward General Counsel, Data Privacy Officers, and anyone seeking technical solutions for the data privacy of their clients

As you may know, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) that governs data privacy will come into effect on May 25, 2018.   The impact of the regulation is significant as the GDPR will apply not only to companies that are based in the EU but also to companies outside the EU that offer services into the EU.
The regulation requires companies to demonstrate evidence of controls to protect the personal data of EU/EEA citizens. Preparation processes must be effective and defensible. The penalties for non-compliance are substantial as they can be as high as 20 million Euros or 4% of the company’s annual worldwide turnover for the prior financial year, whichever is higher.
There is still time to become GDPR compliant. Our Data Privacy team can help you with a compliance assessment and gap analysis, prepare privacy policies, establish a data protection officer, amend or redraft existing third party agreements, create a breach management process, assist with cross-border data transfers, and/or conduct training.
