Geared toward General Counsel, Data Privacy Officers, and anyone seeking technical solutions for the data privacy of their clients

As you may know, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) that governs data privacy will come into effect on May 25, 2018.   The impact of the regulation is significant as the GDPR will apply not only to companies that are based in the EU but also to companies outside the EU that offer services into the EU.
The regulation requires companies to demonstrate evidence of controls to protect the personal data of EU/EEA citizens. Preparation processes must be effective and defensible. The penalties for non-compliance are substantial as they can be as high as 20 million Euros or 4% of the company’s annual worldwide turnover for the prior financial year, whichever is higher.
There is still time to become GDPR compliant. Our Data Privacy team can help you with a compliance assessment and gap analysis, prepare privacy policies, establish a data protection officer, amend or redraft existing third party agreements, create a breach management process, assist with cross-border data transfers, and/or conduct training.

Doppelmayr Lunch and Company Visit

Salt Lake City based Doppelmayr specializes in the production of drive platforms for fixed grip lift installations, tower structures, terminal enclosures, chair production, as well as electrical control systems and hydraulic systems for detachable and fixed grip lift installations.

Founded in 1892, Doppelmayr started as a blacksmith shop in Austria. It installed its first rope tow for skiing in the 1930s and today is the leader in uphill transportation at ski resorts worldwide. Doppelmayr’s U.S. facility is one of six in the world. The company’s U.S. operations were in Golden, Colorado, before the merger with Garaventa, a Swiss company.

Today they have 130 full-time employees in Utah, and staff numerous seasonal employees on installations around the country. The current ski business, which accounts for about two-thirds of Doppelmayr’s sales worldwide, is split between high-speed and fixed-grip chairlifts. The former can cost $10 million installed while the latter starts around $1.5 million. Doppelmayr also has a healthy service and parts business, as about 60 percent of about 3,500 chairlifts in North America are one of the company’s many brands.

Large and small businesses members receive one or two free lunches based upon membership level. Additional lunches can be purchased at the member price of $15.

Non-member price $25.
