Salt Lake City, Utah – 23 January 2009 – The World Trade Association of Utah today announced, at its monthly luncheon, that Bill Waterbury will serve for 2009 as the President of the organization’s Board of Directors. Bill Waterbury’s first action as President was to thank the departing President, Cynthia Halliday, for her service in 2008. Bill will work closely with the Board and with the 2009 Vice Presidents, Danielle Lower and Brent Hansen. The World Trade Association of Utah, now an affiliate of the World Trade Center Utah, is managed by a separate governing board, reflecting its 30 year tradition of promoting international business in Utah and offering the international business community a forum to discuss innovative ideas, learn about successful enterprises and make essential international business connections. Waterbury says, “Utah is global, and the World Trade Association of Utah helps bring together professionals with an interest in international trade and business working worldwide. There are unique opportunities to see international businesses from the inside workings, actively pursuing international connections and opportunities while recognizing best business practices.” Waterbury has over 30 years of personal experience in international trade and business. “I’ve been involved in international business my entire career in different ways and continue to see new opportunities and people involving international trade through this forum,” says the new WTA President.
As a new affiliate of the World Trade Center Utah, led by President & CEO Lew Cramer, the World Trade Association of Utah continues its operations as a non-profit organization whose members include individuals, corporations, government, academic institutions, service providers to the international business community in Utah, and many others. The World Trade Association of Utah provides a forum for exchange of ideas and information through a schedule of monthly luncheons with key speakers and special events to strengthen the knowledge and value of their global association.
