Stan Rees has worked in international business for 36 years. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1969 and later his Masters degree in international business management from Thunderbird in Arizona in 1976, he joined the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center. He worked 30 years mostly in Salt Lake City with a couple of years in the Honolulu office providing export assistance, and counseling to U.S. companies. He served as Trade Specialist for 21 years, then as Director for 9 years. During this time Stan served on the board of directors and as President of the World Trade Association of Utah. After retiring from the Department of Commerce in 2006, he joined Salt Lake Community College to form the Global Business Center and developed the Executive Certificate of Global Business Management course offering international business training to business professionals and persons wishing to increase their knowledge of global business practices. The Center also offers global business training through workshops, seminars, and international business briefings.
