Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, World Trade Center Utah
Elizabeth Goryunova is Executive Vice President & COO of the World Trade Center Utah and Director of International Relations for the Salt Lake Chamber. At the WTCU she is responsible for organization operations and strategic development, including establishing collaboration agreements with international business entities, diplomacy and educational programs and events as well as conducting client consultations. At the Salt Lake Chamber she is responsible for international business development services for members of the Salt Lake Chamber, incluging expanding Chamber network abroad, international hosting and events as well as Chamber International Committee.
Her professional and educational international business development credentials include among all serving as a Director of International Relations for the IMP, Russian Academy of Sciences, where she led the effort in identifying international scientific collaboration and fundraising opportunities for the Russian scientists. She facilitated cooperation agreements with major research centers and laboratories all over the world (for example, Los Alamos, Rutherford), established faculty/students/researchers exchange programs, organized international conferences, workshops, educational events, participated in international trade negotiations and hosted diplomatic receptions. In 1990 Elizabeth was recognized by the US Senate affiliated organization Peace Links as one of 10 outstanding Russian women-professionals and traveled to Washington, DC to participate in the workshop “Solving Problems Together”.
During her tenure at the RAS Elizabeth graduated from Business Management School with emphasis on International Marketing, and acquired accounting certification. She also holds MBA and Financial Management Certification from Westminster College and Executive Certificate of Global Business Management from the Salt Lake Community College.
She is a treasurer of the Utah District Export Council and serves on the University of Utah International Center Advisory Board, World Trade Association Board as well as on the Trade Fairs, Trade Marts & High Tech Parks Committee of the World Trade Centers Association. Formerly a professional scientist and professor, she served as a Vice Chair for the State Radiation Control Board, dealing with nuclear regulatory issues.
