Danielle Lower is the Director of the Women’s Business Institute at the Salt Lake Community College. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, Paul and three children: Sasha, Anna and Eli. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Puget Sound, and an MBA in Finance from Westminster College.
Danielle’s passion is working with small start-up businesses especially those who are economically or socially disadvantaged. She started her career in Corporate banking as a Corporate Relationship Manager. After a stint as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to the workforce part-time as the Assistant Director of the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund, a non-profit organization that helps low/moderate income entrepreneurs start small businesses. She then moved to Salt lake Community College as a small business consultant for the Small Business Development Center.
In October 2007, she was involved in creating the Women’s Business Institute at SLCC and serving as its first Director. She is also an adjunct instructor at Salt Lake Community College teaching an entrepreneurial course entitled First Step Fasttrac. Her international experience includes: work with various international micro-credit programs, development of the SLCC Women’s India Trust Initiative, and development of an international student-run company at SLCC.
